wE RAISE TURKEYS ON PASTURE...

That’s it.

But there is more to it of course!

Most turkeys are not raised outside. This is weird and sad. Turkeys are naturally curious and bond easily with humans. They are a joy to raise and they make any holiday meal special.

Our turkeys are rotated onto fresh pasture every week, following our sheep as they participate in what is often called rotational grazing. Our flocks never see the same blade of grass twice, meaning they are always moving to fresh forage. The result is lush regrowth, which contributes to healthy winter ground cover and spring food for our lambs and equine.

We feed our turkeys a locally grown and locally milled non-GMO grain ration. Our bioregion is renown for grain production, but most of what is harvested leaves the county and the country. Our feed mill gives grain growers an opportunity to market locally, which brings better prices and keeps more money in the community, which in turn supports more small farms like ours.
